Kobudo,or weapons, have been used in Okinawa for centuries. They are mostly based on farm tools that were used for defense. These include the Bo (staff), tonfa, sai, kama, nunchaku, oar and nunte bo. Master Seikichi Odo (1926-2002) began his studies at age 20 in Okinawan Kobudo. He loved the weapons and studied them tediously to ensure the preservation of the old ways. We continue to teach them so as to also preserve and honor Master Odo. There are 30 weapon kata or forms that are taught .
